Time to Burn is a play based on Maxim Gorky's The Lower Depths, and gives the audience a glimpse of people at rock bottom interacting, discussing politics, society, and love. I wanted to capture the texture, grit, and layers found not in the clothing of the homeless, but in their own lives as well. We also wanted to make sure each character retained their own uniqueness even with the limited clothing options they had.
