A Thousand Times Goodnight is an comedy in Elizabethan verse style based on 1001 Arabian nights, include stories from Aladdin, Ali Baba and Sinbad as plays-with-the-play. Set in Persia, Scheherazade volunteers to marry the Sultan, who had beheaded every previous wife. Scheherazade recites stories to the King every night so that she may live to see the next day, and rehabilitate him as a King.

The main visual concept the director wanted to portray was a world inspired both by Elizabethan and Persian styles. finding the happy median between two very different clothing styles was challenging, but it felt more natural to lean more towards the eastern shapes and texture. Scheherazade specifically has certain ties with quenn elixabeth, so I wanted to portray that. The deeper the stories within the play became, the more eastern the costumes looked.
